REVIEW: THE WHITNEY HOUSTON SHOW BY BELINDA DAVIDS

REVIEW: THE WHITNEY HOUSTON SHOW BY BELINDA DAVIDS
Reading Time: 2 minutes

On Sunday friends and I decided to trek across the city to Emperors Palace for Belinda Davids performance on The Greatest Love Of All – The Whitney Houston Show. It was so worth the drive across the city. That it was a matinee show on a Sunday afternoon did not seem to deter avid Whitney Houston fans.

Hayden started the show with a brief solo saxophone performance before Belinda appears and begins her stellar performance.

What a voice!

The Greatest Love Of All - The Whitney Houston ShowShe had the audience mesmerized and singing along, clapping and dancing throughout her performance. There wasn’t a song from Whitney’s hits, that the audience did not know the lyrics to. Belinda sang the likes of All The Man I Need, I Wanna Dance With Somebody, and everyone’s all-time favourite I Will Always Love You. Her interaction with the audience was electric at one point walking down to the audience and singing with the crowd as she made her way through the aisles much to the appreciation of the crowd. You will be left with nostalgia and awe as you are taken on a beautiful musical journey through Houston`s greatest hits.

It’s an amazing show and Belinda truly does Whitney Houston justice.

The production is by Showtime Australia honouring the talent, music, and memory of Whitney Houston. The Greatest Love of All: The Whitney Houston Show has already wowed audiences across the US, Canada, UK, Europe, Asia, UAE, Australia and New Zealand and now is at Emperors Palace for the very first time, with the last show this Sunday 8th July at 2 pm! If you haven’t yet booked, do yourself a favour and get those tickets already. This is a special event you will talk about for years to come!

Belinda Davids is South African, her breathtaking vocal performance is accompanied by a fabulous 6-piece live band – Hayden, Richie, Giles, Kyle to mention who I was blown over by, and four amazing dancers but my favourite is Sandile.
