GUEST POST : HOW TO CELEBRATE FATHER’S DAY WITH YOUR FAMILY
Father’s Day is a day for celebrating! A time for Dads to relax, be pampered and be treated by the family. But! Before you prepare for a day of doing nothing on the sofa, consider the alternatives. Whilst it’s great to simply cuddle up with your kids all day, doing something active together will certainly add to the fun and enjoyment for everyone. With that in mind, let’s check out a handful of things you can do to celebrate Father’s Day.
COOK YOUR FAVOURITE MEAL TOGETHER
Cooking is a great way of interacting with your kids, teaching them a new skill and enjoying the fruits of your labour together. It’s Father’s Day so you get to choose… how about a succulent fillet steak, delicious roast chicken or even a braai? Of course, when you handle raw meat you need to make sure you clean up afterwards, and bleach is great for killing bacteria from your chopping board. That’s still the parent’s job, even on Father’s Day! If you end up needing to find out about bleach stain removal just click here.
DO SOMETHING NEW
Father’s Day is a great time for bonding and what better way of doing that than by taking part in an activity for the first time. Whether it’s something active like rock climbing, fishing by the lake or visiting an interesting museum, make it a fresh experience for everyone and you’ll have something special to remember the day by.
Kids love being outdoors and it’s a great way to have fun. It could be something as simple as a picnic in the park, all your favourite foods of course, or perhaps a long family bike ride. This is the ideal time to get out together, expend some energy and enjoy yourselves.
If you’re someone who’d like nothing more than to relax on Father’s Day, a trip to the movies could be the one. There’s plenty of child-friendly films that have something for the adults too, so it should be easy to pick something you’ll all enjoy. Combine it with a special treat and a meal at a restaurant to extend the festivities.
Father’s Day may well be about marking your role as dad, and what a serious role that is, but it’s also an excuse for you to indulge your inner child. And there’s no better way to do that than visiting a theme park. Whether it’s the thrills and spills of a rollercoaster, a more sedate train ride around the park or checking out exotic animals at a zoo themed park, there’ll be something for everyone to enjoy.
That should give you plenty of food for thought for how to enjoy Father’s Day with your family.
Have a great time!
