HOORAY! It’s a new month, and that means another month to achieve all those goals you’ve set yourself for 2019. As it June it also means that we’re almost done with the first half of 2019, can you believe it! I can’t! Ok, I can cos you can’t miss that fact, but OMG how quickly did we get here!

June also happens to be the month we celebrate the dads and dad figures in our lives. Although we should actually be celebrating them on the regular, like daily, life does get in the way and we don’t acknowledge them as often as we should.

If you haven’t yet gone out shopping for something special for him, and are looking for gift ideas for dad, I’ve put together a few items I wouldn’t mind getting myself to assist you when you’re buying dad a present. No pressure DadD 🙂

Fathers Day + Father's Day

Just like The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck questioned our conventional wisdom on what makes us happy, Everything is F*cked: A Book About Hope questions our assumptions on what makes life worth living.

Drawing from the pool of psychological research on these topics, as well as the timeless wisdom of philosophers such as Plato, Nietzsche, and Tom Waits, he dissects religion and politics and the uncomfortable ways they have come to resemble one another. He looks at our relationships with money, entertainment and the internet, and how too much of a good thing can psychologically eat us alive.

Darren thoroughly enjoyed reading the first book we got him and now he has been loudly hinting at this one as a possible gift for Fathers Day 2019!

Go on, be different and avoid the usual go-to “dad gifts” like  Soap-On-A-Rope and Socks (I know there are some amazing ones now), this year. Even if he “doesn’t mind“, don’t get tempted!

There are amazing gifts out there to make him feel extra special this year!

Hope this list guides you in a different direction as you decide on the perfect Fathers Day gift for your dad.

Don’t forget Fathers Day is the 16th June 2019 🙂
