10 FAMOUS GAY DADS THAT ARE OUT AND PROUD

When we think of “Famous Gay Dads” I am quite sure that the first thought that comes to mind, is gay dads that are either musicians or actors. Right? In reality, there are many gay dads out there who are not in the public eye. Here is a list of 10 such famous gay dads who have openly come out and made themselves known to the public, and I’ve included some of our very own South African proud gay dads too.
It’s a list of gay dads who are raising their families in the public eye. It’s probably not an exhaustive list, so feel free to add to the list by leaving a comment on anyone I’ve missed. Who your favourite gay dads are?
ELTON JOHN & DAVID FURNISH
Probably one of the most famous gay dads in the world. They have two sons Zachary(2010) and Elijah(2013) born via surrogacy.
RICKY MARTIN & JWAN YOSEF
Together they are raising four kids. Twins Matteo and Valentino whom Ricky had as a single father through surrogacy in 2008. With Jwan, they have a pair of Irish twins Lucia(2018) and Renn (2019) born 9 months apart.
TOM FORD & RICHARD BUCKLEY
Tom and his late husband Richard have a son, Alexandra John born in 2012.
ADAIR CURTIS & JASON BOLDEN
Adair and his husband Jason are known in the US in celebrity fashion, interior design and TV shows. These famous dads have a son Arrow born in 2021.
KARAMO BROWN
You will probably know him for his role in Queer Eye on Netflix. Has a biological son Jason (1997) and adopted Jason’s half-brother Chris (2001).
PETE & CHASTEN BUTTIGIEG
Pete aka Peter Buttigieg is the US Secretary of Trasport and his husband Chasten nee Glezman, are dads via adoption to Joseph and Penelope(2021).
NATE BERKUS & JEREMIAH BRENT
Celebrity interior designers and media personalities, Nate and his husband Jeremiah are dads to Poppy (2015) and Oskar (2018).
MATT BOMER & SIMON HALLS
Actor Matt and his husband Simon Hall are dads of three, Kit (2005) and twins Henry and Walker (2008).

Is a South African media personality. In 1992 he appeared in the musical and political film, Sarafina. He has a daughter Bahumi(1995) with actress Palesa Madisakwane. Would I be right in saying he is South Africa’s most famous gay dad?
