TWO DADS AND A KID RUNNERS UP IN BEST LGBT BLOG CATEGORY – SA BLOG AWARDS 2017

Thank you to all who took the time to vote for us, but more importantly for taking time from your busy schedules to read our posts and interact with us. I’m humbled by all the support.
We’re super chuffed with our Runner-Up, who would have thought when I originally started the blog to document our journey in parenthood and fitness that we’d get here one day. Second to the seasonal Mambaonline that has and continues to keep the Gay Community in South Africa updated not only on what’s happening locally but also across the globe.
I started the blog to chronicle our journey into parenthood and share our lives with our child, but as with things in life, it has evolved and I’m hoping that it also empowers other members of the LGBT community who want to experience parenthood as a same-sex couple but aren’t quite sure how to go about it, what potential challenges they could experience, or how amazing parenthood can be.
As the hubby, Darren says, “It is important that we ‘normalise’ being gay parents as much as possible and also demonstrate that two men are as capable of raising children in a loving and nurturing environment as any other couple gay or not.”
The SA Blog Awards is the official showcase and recognition platform for the very best of South African blogs.
It endeavours to bring South African Bloggers to the forefront of peoples attention, both locally and internationally, increasing exposure for South Africa’s great bloggers worldwide.
Through the recognition process of current SA Bloggers and the publicity created around the awards, blogs, and bloggers, we look to encourage people who are outside the realm of blogging to start their own blogs and discover the fantastic world of blogging.
