I recently got the opportunity to try the “Sneaker Lab Premium Kit”, which is one of the products offered by  Sneaker LAB. The shoe care product range is environmentally friendly, containing no soap or chemicals and uses pro-bacterial technology. Their products are so eco-friendly that even the packaging is suitable for recycling, and the best part is that it’s a South African brand!

• Sneaker LAB Protector
• Sneaker LAB Odor Protector

Our toddler loves the outdoors, and if there’s mud or water around or a sandpit then that’s where he will be. Fortuitously, this kit arrived just in time for me to try as a pair of sneakers we recently bought for him had already been through this initiation. I learnt a while back that the modern-day sneakers are not to be cleaned the way I did when growing up, with water and soap or into the washing machine.

HOW IT WORKS

Use the Sneaker LAB brush to take off any dirt residue on your sneakers.

Second Step – Spray the Sneaker LAB Cleaner over the sneaker. Don’t be shy, use as much as you feel is needed.

Third Step – Take the Sneaker Brush again and now scrub off the dirt. Feel free to use some elbow grease. There were some areas on the sneaker that needed a little more help, so I dabbed the brush with some water and scrubbed the area on the sneaker some more. It worked.

Fourth Step – After all that scrubbing, I felt that the sneakers were clean enough or maybe I had had enough of scrubbing the sneaker. I grabbed a Sneaker LAB Wipe and wiped down the sneakers purely for a finishing touch.

Fifth Step – It’s time to get the sneakers dried. Let them air dry so I placed them outside as it was an awesome sunny day. If you’re not happy with the results, repeat the steps above again. I was happy with the results so didn’t see the need to repeat.

Sixth Step – As soon as I was happy that the sneakers were dry, I sprayed them with the Sneaker LAB Sneaker Protector. This spray protects your sneakers from absorbing too much dirt so that the next time you decide to clean them it will be easier. The seventh step is linked to the sixth step, to give your sneakers a fresh “new” scent, spray them with the Sneaker LAB Odor Protector, you will love it!

VERDICT

This is definitely a product I will be using more to keep the family sneaker collection clean and smelling fresh. I found the steps easy to follow and the results remarkable. The areas with more ingrained dirt will require a little more effort, but it will be worth it.into trail running, running in the rain or just love living in your sneakers, at some point you will want to have your sneakers cleaned.
