PINEAPPLE UPSIDE-DOWN CAKE
Deliciousness on a plate. Super easy and quick to make, and perfect to compliment any family Sunday lunch or afternoon tea.
PINEAPPLE UPSIDE-DOWN CAKE
Ingredients
CAKE
- 4 Eggs
- 1 Cup Sugar
- 1 Cup Flour
- 1 tsp Baking Powder
- 3 Tbsp Melted Butter
- 2 Tbsp Hot Water
- 1 Tbsp Vanilla Extract
- 1 Tin Pineapples
CARAMEL
- 1 Cup White Sugar
Instructions
CAKE

Whip the 4 Eggs and Sugar for 15 minutes

Preheat the oven to 180°C and line the baking tin

Add Flour and Baking Powder

Add Hot water to the melted butter and combine with the cake mixture
CARAMEL

Add Sugar to a pan or pot on mid-high heat until it caramelizes, take care not to burn it
CAKE TIN FILLING

Add the sugar caramel to the cake tin

Place the pineapples over the caramel

Add the cake batter
-
Bake for about 30 minutes or until pin comes out clean

Allow to rest for 10 minutes before turning the cake out onto a plate
