Boerewors and Mash with Chakalaka
Easy and budget friendly, this recipe is the perfect solution for a hearty family meal.
Ingredients
Boerewors
- 1 Tin Rhodes Quality Chakalaka 410g
- 500 g Boerewors
- 2 Tbsp Sunflower Oil
- 1 Large Onion Sliced
Mashed Potatoes
- 1 kg Potatoes
- 125 ml Milk ½ Cup
- 3 Tbsp Butter or Margarine
- Salt and Freshly cracked Black Pepper
Instructions

Peel the potatoes and chop into quarters.

Bring water to the boil in a large pot or saucepan and Add the potatoes and salt

Cook over medium heat until potatoes are soft and breakable when poked

Drain the Potatoes

Add milk to the pot or saucepan you just used to boil the potatoes

Add the butter or margarine and bring to boil

Add the drained potatoes to the milk in the pot or saucepan, make sure heat is low, and mash the potatoes in the pot with masher

Stir the mashed potatoes and milk mixture until creamy

Season the potato mash to taste with salt and pepper and set aside

AirFry the boerewors until cooked and browned on both sides

Heat the oil in the saucepan and fry the onions until soften and translucent

Add the Rhodes Quality Chakalaka to the onions and bring to boil

Cut the Boerewors into smaller pieces and add to the Chakalaka mix

Make sure the Chakalaka is heated through, serve it hot over the mashed potatoes
